Korean Glass Skin Effect Through the HydraGlass Ritual

PressThere is usually a polished story behind a new aesthetics clinic.
A vision. A business plan. A carefully chosen location. But WALDOR has a story that began long before its doors opened.
It began when our founder, Dor Bukobza, was only 19. At an age when most people are still figuring out what they want their future to look like, Dor had already found himself drawn to skincare and aesthetics.
There is much more to Dor’s career than the clinic you see today. His years in aesthetics, the challenges he encountered and the thinking that followed are explored in
What started as an early career decision gradually became something much larger. Over the next 17 years, he immersed himself in the industry, built businesses, worked with people from every kind of background and developed a deeper fascination with what makes every person, and their skin, so individual.
But the path wasn’t always upward. And perhaps that is what makes the story behind WALDOR worth knowing.
By the time Dor reached 27, he had already built a great deal for himself. Then, unexpectedly, it fell apart. Financial difficulties within businesses he had built with partners left him facing the loss of much of what he had worked for. It was the kind of moment that can make someone step away from entrepreneurship altogether.
For Dor, it did something different…it made him start again. But starting again meant looking at everything with fresh eyes and asking himself what was truly worth building, what kind of experience he wanted to create and what he felt was missing from an industry he had already spent years understanding.
The answers didn’t arrive overnight. They came through experience, curiosity and a willingness to keep looking. That period of rebuilding would eventually become one of the most defining chapters in Dor’s life, because WALDOR was not born from having everything figured out; it was born from having to figure out what mattered.
As Dor continued his journey, his curiosity took him further afield. South Korea and Japan became particularly important influences. He travelled extensively, exploring the technologies, ingredients and philosophies shaping their approach to skin health.
But what stayed with him wasn’t simply the sophistication of the technology; it was the mindset. There was a different way of thinking about skin: more considered, more preventative and more individual. The experience challenged something that had become increasingly clear to Dor throughout his career.
“The most advanced technology in the world means very little if you don’t understand the person you’re using it on.”
That thought became the seed of WALDOR.
Dor could have created another clinic centred around the latest machines and most talked-about treatments. Instead, he went back to the question that had been forming throughout his career: What if the starting point wasn’t the treatment, but the person?
That idea is now embedded into the WALDOR experience. Before a facial treatment is recommended, our AI-powered analysis creates a detailed 4D picture of the face, allowing the team to look more closely at concerns including hydration, oil production, pigmentation, sun damage and markers associated with collagen and elastin.
For body treatments, there is consultation before technology is chosen. For injectables, the journey begins with a medical consultation. For hair concerns, AI scalp analysis can help establish what is happening before a treatment is recommended.
The technology is sophisticated but the thinking behind it is simple: Understand first, then decide.
There is another part of the story that matters just as much, and that is the people. Dor has always considered the WALDOR team more like family than colleagues, and that says something about the kind of business he wanted to build.
After everything he had experienced, he understood that a person’s experience of aesthetics isn’t determined by technology alone. It is shaped by the person sitting across from them, someone who listens, notices the small things and makes you feel comfortable enough to trust them.
Technical expertise can be developed and technology can always be upgraded, but genuine kindness is different. It has to be part of who you are.
Walk into WALDOR and you will notice another side of Dor. The clinic feels unlike a conventional aesthetics space, and that was entirely deliberate. Dor designed the interior himself, paying close attention to every detail, from the colours and materials to the furniture, wallpaper, chandelier and the now-infamous pink onyx statement bar.
It may seem like an unusual thing for a founder of an aesthetics clinic to care so deeply about, but for Dor, it was never simply about how the space looked. It was about how it felt. The space is an extension of the same philosophy that shaped the treatments: Nothing should feel generic.
Every detail should have a reason and every experience should feel considered. And while the clinic carries elements of Dor’s personality throughout, he is clear that creating something personal is not the same as creating something that is simply about him.
“WALDOR may have started with his vision, but it was built for the people who walk through its doors.”
Just when the story could have ended with building the clinic, Dor’s curiosity led him into another area entirely: longevity.
His interest took him to Okinawa and Sardinia, two communities widely associated with the Blue Zones concept, where living long, healthy lives is deeply woven into everyday life. But once again, Dor wasn’t searching for a miracle or a single solution. What fascinated him was something much simpler. It was the way people lived each day, moving naturally, eating thoughtfully, staying connected, finding purpose, making time for laughter and looking after themselves and each other.
And somewhere in those observations was another lesson for WALDOR. Perhaps healthy skin was never just about skincare, but about everything that supports it, from sleep and nutrition to movement, stress, connection and ultimately, the way we live when nobody is looking.
After almost two decades in aesthetics, Dor’s understanding of beauty has evolved. With years of experience behind him, his definition of success has become remarkably simple: not changing someone’s identity, not chasing perfection and not making everyone look the same, but helping people feel more confident in their own skin.
Because perhaps the greatest transformation isn’t looking completely different; it’s looking in the mirror and feeling more like yourself.
